Who We Are

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to provide resources and services for preaching, teaching, and confessing Jesus Christ as God’s Word for us and for our salvation.

graphicEmerging from a decade of effort to bring a major Lutheran denomination back to its Biblical and Confessional roots, WordAlone is transforming into a service organization to support the development of confessional Lutheranism in North America. As a new day dawns on the confessional Lutheran landscape, a servant organization is needed to support the mission of growing associations of congregations. WordAlone is stepping up to that role. WordAlone excels in the production of faithful print and multimedia resources for Christian education. WordAlone innovates and incubates new ministries designed to meet the needs of congregations seeking to make disciples in obedience to Jesus’ command.

To this end WordAlone continues its transition from a reform movement into a center for ministry and mission. Connecting its past and present nature to the future, its role is to be a doer of the word, emphasizing functional structure “for good order,” as a way of life and service. Partnering with established agencies, we will continue to blaze a trail by innovating and incubating new ministries that fill obvious gaps in service needed by newly emerging churches on the confessional Lutheran landscape. It will excel in the production of valuable print and multimedia resources for curriculum, evangelism, and congregational life. And it will build a foundation for confessional Lutheranism through leadership development, fellowship, and shared mission.

Sola Publishing

Sola produces innovative and affordable resources for Christian education. Its curriculum materials serve the needs of Sunday schools, vacation Bible schools, and adult study. Lutheran resources include a children’s edition of the small catechism and an adult study in the Augsburg Confession. Sola is a dependable partner to help congregations pass on the heritage of Scripture to the Church’s coming generations.

Ministry Forge

Ministry forge is where WordAlone starts, nurtures, and launches new ministries. Working together with associations such as LCMC, CALC, and Lutheran CORE, NALC WordAlone develops services that congregations and agencies need to carry out their mission. Ministry Forge works collaboratively with other existing ministries to avoid duplication of efforts and to enhance overall support for mission. Competency in planning, project management, technology, marketing, and fund development supports each new project inside the Ministry Forge so that it can grow quickly to become a much needed and viable ministry. Current Ministry Forge Projects include:

  • Mission Teams

The Evangelical Mission Team program is designed to empower people at a local grass roots level to make effective use of public media, open dialogue, and current marketing methodology to further the work of the gospel.

  • Evangelism

Salvation Life and Truth, SALT, as a fully fledged evangelical ministry meant to use the whole gamut of mass media and Internet technologies to preach, teach, and confess Jesus Christ as God’s Word for us and for our salvation.

  • Chaplain Corps

WordAlone Chaplain Corps provides pastoral care, Bible teaching, and consultation about denominational affiliation to individuals, groups, and congregations from reliably Biblical and confessional pastors.

  • Church Starts

We are working to start new worshipping communities through our partnership with LEM in a Lutheran house church network called “Life Together Churches.”
